We’re excited to officially introduce Critter, the best digital toolset for pet owners.
When my wife (now cofounder) Jahna and I adopted our dog Lucy nearly six years ago, we found the available digital and mobile resources for pet owners lacking. They were complex and difficult to navigate, and didn’t solve basic problems around sharing care across each other or with others who helped take care of Lucy. Simply put, they weren’t useful or usable.
So, we decided to fix that.
That’s why we’re building Critter, a mobile application designed as a daily companion and resource to pet owners everywhere. The idea is to cover the basics–think activity and milestone tracking–in a clean and modern way, while offering more advanced functionality to solve challenges that exist around sharing responsibilities and updates across family, friends, and professionals, because more often than not, pet care is a team effort.
We’ll be launching on iOS and Android later this year, starting first with a small beta test period before opening up for general access. With the first version of our app, you’ll be able to:
Track day to day care activities that matter for your pet, including medications, appointments, feeding, cleaning/hygiene activities, and more
Build and share a care plan, complete with instructions and schedules, for when your pet is in someone else’s care
Connect with everyone who supports your pet care in a single space by inviting family, friends, and professionals to your Circle to centralize communications and updates
We’ll go into greater detail on the origin of the idea and what we intend to build elsewhere in the blog, but don’t wait to join our waitlist to ensure early access to our initial testing phase this year and stay up to date on our progress and release date.
